Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Structural.Works ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users, including individual engineers and organization accounts.

2. Description of Service

Structural.Works is a SaaS platform that assists residential structural engineering firms by automating workflows from architect CAD input to engineering deliverables. The Platform provides tools for CAD file parsing, architectural modeling, structural layout, detail selection, and document generation.

3. Professional Responsibility

The Platform is a tool to assist licensed Professional Engineers (PEs). All structural calculations, designs, and deliverables generated by the Platform must be reviewed, verified, and approved by a licensed PE before use. Structural.Works does not replace professional engineering judgment.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that any engineering work product derived from the Platform complies with applicable building codes, standards, and local jurisdiction requirements.

4. User Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
• Upload malicious files or attempt to compromise the system
• Share account credentials or allow unauthorized third-party access
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Platform
• Resell or redistribute the Platform without our written consent
• Exceed reasonable usage limits or abuse API endpoints

6. Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of all project data, CAD files, and engineering work product you upload or create on the Platform, subject to the licenses granted below.

Detail Library License

By uploading structural details, detail drawings, or other materials to the Platform's detail library, you grant Structural.Works a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, fully sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, distribute, display, and create derivative works from such materials for any purpose, without restriction. This includes, but is not limited to, making uploaded details available to other users of the Platform, incorporating them into the Platform's built-in detail library, and using them in marketing or promotional materials.

Data Use for Training and Improvement

By using the Platform, you grant Structural.Works a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to use your user-generated content — including but not limited to structural models, calculation notes, project parameters, annotations, and any other data you create or input on the Platform — for internal purposes such as improving the Platform, developing new features, training artificial intelligence and machine learning models, and conducting research and analytics. This data may be aggregated or de-identified for these purposes. Structural.Works will not publicly attribute specific project data to you without your consent.

Our Platform

The Platform, including its software, design, and documentation, is owned by Structural.Works and protected by intellectual property laws. The detail library and structural templates provided are licensed for use within the Platform only.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Structural.Works shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform. This includes, without limitation, damages arising from structural calculations, design outputs, or engineering deliverables generated by the Platform.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Platform in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that calculations or outputs will be error-free, that the Platform will be uninterrupted, or that it will meet specific regulatory requirements in your jurisdiction.

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. You may request export of your data within 30 days of termination.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in San Francisco County, California.
